Climate & Migration

BUSINESS CHALLENGE
A story that had to move policy, not just report data
As climate change accelerates, the need for accurate, accessible environmental data is critical for informed global action. IOM sought to enhance its reporting capabilities to visually communicate the connections between global warming, natural disasters (such as floods and heatwaves), and human migration. The goal was to present a compelling, data-driven narrative in time for COP29, helping to influence policy and drive proactive climate strategies.
SOLUTION IMPLEMENTED
A cloud-native platform for exploring the data live
IOM developed a custom geospatial data visualization platform to better understand the links between climate change and migration. Built with a cloud-native architecture, the platform offers a responsive and interactive experience, enabling users to explore environmental indicators and migration patterns on dynamic maps, providing clear insights for stakeholders, helping them make more informed decisions on global climate impacts.
